Price range: $250.00 through $25,000.00
The Ohio Society of the Sons of the American Revolution is working with state officials and legislators to place a life-sized, historically accurate statue of a young Revolutionary War soldier on the grounds of the Ohio Statehouse. The Capitol honors many chapters of Ohio’s civic memory, yet there remains no Statehouse memorial dedicated specifically to the men and women of the Revolutionary era—the generation whose endurance, conviction, and willingness to risk everything gave birth to the nation and helped shape the promise of Ohio.
This monument will be far more than bronze and stone. It will stand as a public declaration that freedom was purchased at great personal cost by ordinary citizens who accepted extraordinary responsibility—and that we, as heirs of their sacrifice, have a duty to remember, teach, and preserve what they secured for us.
The project is expected to cost $150,000–$200,000, with a goal of unveiling the monument during the 2028 National SAR Congress in Ohio. The Patriot Legacy Project Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) organization, has been established to lead the fundraising effort as the project proceeds through the Capital City Review and Advisory Board approval process.
